Convergence Training will Relocate to Larger Facility

Convergence Training has officially outgrown our current location in Camas, WA.

Over the last 12 years, we’ve slowly expanded our office space by knocking down walls as other suites have been vacated. A few years ago, we finally inherited the entire upstairs of our rental space. With the amount of new staff we hired in 2009, and the goals and opportunities we have for this year and beyond, we’ve finally outgrown our current location.

To give us room for future expansion, Convergence has found a new office space in nearby Vancouver, WA. This building has two floors and will nearly double our square footage.

Now that the paperwork has been signed and the move is official, we are excited for construction to begin. For the next few months, we will be waiting patiently as the building gets some improvements, including an elevator for ADA compliancy, new bathrooms, a renovated upstairs, and new office partitions. We are planning to complete the remodel and move into the new building mid-summer.

While we are excited to be moving to a larger and nicer facility, we want to assure you that this is not some fancy, over-priced high-rise building in Manhattan. We looked long and hard to find a building that could accommodate our current and future workforce without increasing the costs to the customers. We will continue to provide affordable training services, with the same quality 3D graphics and animation, that our customers have come to expect.

Palo Verde nuclear power plant near Phoenix, Arizona recently held its annual “Safe Day”. One of the more than 40 booths at the event, which are created by the employees themselves, incorporated video from part of our Compressed Gas Safety training. Convergence donated the use of the compressed gas video for the single-day event.

Almost 50 departments, vendors and others hosted booths, each with its own individual message or theme. From Business Continuity to Work Management, from Air Gas Inc. to Westinghouse along with Palo Verde Young Generation Nuclear and the Safety Singing Man, Safety and Human Performance Day offered a wealth of information, interaction, games playing and more.

Driving Preparation
This module focuses on preparing to drive safely and includes the basics of vehicle maintenance and inspection, suggestions for planning your route, emergency supplies, securing cargo, seat belts, and cell phones.

Alert Driving
This module focuses on the importance of alert driving and discusses driving while impaired, avoiding distractions, scanning the road, things to look for, increasing reaction time, and the two-second rule.

Driving Hazard Recognition
This module discusses recognizing and avoiding driving hazards related to intersections, blind spots, limited visibility, losing traction, erratic drivers, and pedestrians, animals, and parked vehicles.

Delivery Formats
As always, these courses will be available on DVD, as computer-based training through Convergence Training Viewer, as Pay-Per-View, and even licensable SCORM courses in our LMS or yours.

Freebie: Ergonomics Image

We recently took a few renders from our Ergonomics course and put them together into a single clipart style image. The safety graphics show proper lifting techniques, and also shows the difference between good and bad seated positions. We are offering the image for you to use on your website, on your blog, in your safety meetings, or anything else, royalty free. The only thing we ask is that we ask that our logo remains apparent on the image.
